Equip the Katana with an ore collector and Special Command software AND one Spectre missile - I picked one up after watching a skirmish in Asteroid Belt. I forgot to say don't transfer the Jumpdrive from the Katana, you can pick up a new one at the ODS in Althes. I had to use the All Seeing Eye to locate it since it was 100km off the fully un-zoomed map. I had a job locating the Jump Beacon - way down south. Fly to the furthest Unknown Sector and look for the Nividium roid. Max out the Valkyrie and fly to Asteroid Belt making sure to locate the southern gate so you can jump back to it later. Sell a couple of the lasers from the Katana. It's a nice little alternative method which I just tried out. The unknown sector in the Wester Terran Territories is by far easier. Or you can just sell the ship without a jumpdrive. If you get it from the moon, one ship has to be manually driven to Saturn in order to reequip a jumpdrive at some point. Then you can go straight to Althes and get the jumpdrive from there.
Get the Valkyrie from Megnir shipyard instead. Why does making friends with the argon help with finding Nvidium? Aside from being able to pick up Nvidium from their sectors that is (that reason is weak since there's plenty of sectors out there with Nividium not in argon space). "Scale Plate Green" is hands down the easiest location to pick up Nividium - search elsewhere for 'list of nividium rock clusters'. Shouldn't take too long - be careful not to hit any Argon stations or ships. Once there you can jump in with bigger and more powerful ships and kill Xenon in order to increase your Argon reputation. Then head through Argon space to the north-east sector "Getsu Fune". Sell weapons from your Katana and buy a Valkyrie (M size cargo - so Jumpdrive!!) at The Moon shipyard.
